RTA decides to broaden "Ladies' Taxi" service

In reply to public requests and in accordance with the its strategic plan in providing the best services to meet the needs of different society cross-sections, the families in particular, the Public Transport Agency at the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) decided to broaden this service to include all family members in order for them to use this service and enjoy family privacy.

Ammar bin Tamim, Director of Dubai Taxi in the Public Transport Agency said that the first phase of the "Ladies' Taxi", which kicked off at the start of January this year, had included the operation of 50 modern comfortable taxis, making provisions for privacy and are distinctive with their rosy colored tops. They are driven by 100 qualified female drives who are proficient on how to deal with the public according to the social customs and traditions.

Those female drivers were subject to theoretical and practical training sessions delivered by specialist institutes over the driving skills and the best treatment with ladies, children and emergencies, as well as how to be well versed on the different locations and sites in Dubai.

He added that "Ladies' Taxi" roam different locations and utilities all over Dubai and from there towards all other Emirates. The service can be requested by contact reservation and inquiries on 04-2080808 and is delivered weeklong from 6.00 AM until 2.00 AM.

Through the expansion and development of the "Ladies' Taxi," the RTA aims at providing safe and smooth transport for the ladies, children and all family members interested in moving from one place to another. Adding to that, embodying the RTA vision in delivering its services to all the social cross-sections, providing an advanced transport that offers the highest comfort and safety levels and developing an integrated system of transport projects, which will contribute to the consolidation of Dubai's status on the international map.
