Dubai firms, web exemptions

Companies operating in Dubai's free zones may be able to apply to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in order to retain unrestricted access to the Internet once a country-wide web filter is extended to areas like the Media and Internet cities, reported Gulf News. Mohammed Al Gaith, the TRA's Manager for Technical Affairs, said firms operating in the media, fashion and pharmaceutical sectors might be able to obtain exemptions.
