UAE offers solar power option

A renewable energy expert has said the UAE is well placed to utilise its solar energy in order to generate power, reported Gulf News. European nations are currently evaluating plans to set up solar power plants in Africa's Sahara desert but Galal Osman, the Vice President of the World Wind Energy Association said the vast expanses of the Empty Quarter are a better option as they receive more radiation.
