Part of the establishment's drive to promote management best practices, the programme highlighted the importance of in depth evaluation of business models and meticulous pre launch planning to ensure the success and sustainability of new projects.

At the graduation ceremony at Dubai University, Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, said: "The UAE's strong economic growth has opened up unprecedented opportunities for small and medium size enterprises."

Referring to Dubai's Strategic Plan and the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Al Janahi said UAE nationals are expected to increase their contribution to the growth of the country's economic capabilities.

"Now, entrepreneurs have excellent opportunities to benefit from the growing scope of new businesses in various economic segments. Creative thinking and comprehensive planning are essential differentiators for small and medium companies to compete with larger entities."

The 'Idea Evaluation and Development Planning' programme covered all aspects involved in establishing a successful business. It provided potential entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to think creatively about new business ideas. It also included the necessary tactics to implement those ideas on the ground.

Al Janahi said: "This interactive course underlines our commitment to enhancing entrepreneurial skills in the UAE. Promoting scientific and analytical thinking among potential entrepreneurs is one of our key strategic objectives."

A second cycle of the 'Idea Evaluation and Development Planning' training programme is scheduled for the third quarter of 2007.

The 'Idea Evaluation and Development Planning' programme was organized in association with the University of Dubai and sponsored by Mashreq Bank.
