The move comes at a time when the Bank is in the process of completing an internal implementation of a state of the art core banking system that creates a fully integrated bank infrastructure.

The newly revamped site provides visitors with up to date information on the bank's products and services, including details on it's retail and commercial banking services, branch locations as well as information on latest promotional activities by the bank.

In addition, the site provides the latest community news headlines and facilitates the online payment of utility bills as well as access to a number of official forms, previously only accessible by physically visiting the bank. Those interested in a career at the bank can now at all times check out the latest available openings and submit their CV online.

Mr. Mahmoud Hadi, Assistant General Manager, Systems and Operations at the Bank, explains that the launch of the site is part of an overall plan for a phased expansion of Internet banking services targeting the region's growing number of online bank users. "A substantial portion of our expenses is spent on information technology in order to meet the needs of our clients who are increasingly looking for internet-based products and service. The re-launch is a first step in our commitment towards a comprehensive online banking site".

Mr. Hadi adds, "in our long term commitment towards offering the most comprehensive range of on line banking services, we will always keep in mind the importance of our one-to-one personal service, ensuring we maintain the highest standard of customer trust and security at all times".

Mr. Hadi further explains, "one of the site's key strengths for any first time visitor is its professional design elements and user-friendliness. The simple navigation and presentation of the services ensures it passes any overall useability test. A priority has been placed on the use of the latest accepted web design standards in order to optimise the user experience".

Mr. Hadi concludes, "work is underway to introduce more interactive features on the site in the first quarter of next year to meet the growing demand for online banking. The new design and navigation improvements increase the site's useability and paves the way for future online banking services".
