Iraq blasts Al Jazeera
- Iraq: Sunday, February 11 - 2007 at 07:53
The Iraqi government is considering legal action against Qatar based Arabic news channel Al Jazeera for stirring up sectarianism through its reporting, and thus contributing to the continued death and destruction across the nation, reported Reuters. The channel was actually banned from Iraq two years ago although its recently launched English language service has a presence in Baghdad. Al Jazeera described the accusations as 'unjustified, baseless and ridiculous'.
