The Fund was launched last year in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, and targets Jordanian youth that are with solid academic accomplishment, but without the means to allow them entry into Jordanian public universities.

When asked to comment on this academic scholarship, Mr. Samer Fakhouri, General Manager of ITC, said "we believe in providing equal opportunity to all citizens, but we also want to ensure that the students benefiting from this fund will in fact be ones who will be able to give back to their local community. We chose these students to be the first 12 to benefit from our initiative after having fully satisfied all requirements of our meticulous selection criteria."

"This scholarship is only open to students who scored 80% or more in their final Tawjihi results. However, academic performance is not our only means of evaluation when making a choice like this one. In our evaluation, we also take into consideration living conditions, place of residence, and the number of siblings currently enrolled in learning institutions across Jordan. ." When asked about the aims behind setting up the scholarship program, Mr. Fakhouri said " We at ITC strongly support initiatives that target youth, since we believe that education is a molder of minds for future generations. Our scholarship is open to 12 individuals each year, and it is our way of putting our strong sense of social responsibility to good use. By investing in education, we are investing in the very minds that are to shape our future. I am glad to see this fund brought to life and I am sure that through it we will be able to open new windows of opportunity for 12 deserving students every year, so that in four years time up to 48 students will have gained a fully funded education through our Bedaya Scholarship Fund."

Students can benefit from this fund at the start of each new academic year, provided that they don not receive financial aid from any other entity. However, the scholarship does not cover courses that are repeated, nor is it applicable for students who are placed on academic probation at any point throughout their university history. It will also be taken away from students who partake in plagiarism in any of its forms, and students who change their place of study, or their major without prior consent of their academic adviser.
