  • PRESS RELEASE

Foot traffic jumped 25 per cent at Sahara Centre during the first ever 45-day Spring Promotion 2007 which ended on Saturday.

Extending the annual spring promotion by 15 days this year resulted in total sales at the shopping centre rising by 10% over the period.

"The timing of this year's Spring Promotions played a vital role" said Rima Chammas, Marketing Manager of Sahara Centre. "Families had lots of time off because of the holiday seasons and the spring break to visit the mall and enjoy all the entertainment provided by the centre."

This year's spring promotions witnessed new and exciting entertainment for all ages. The "Sahara Circus" a daily special artistic show that involved 14 child performers, magicians, animators, a guitarist and a juggler was highly appreciated by the young ones not to mention the weekly fashion contest that saw three lucky public winners walk away with shopping vouchers each.

The weekly fashion contest also involved mall tenants and Marks & Spencer won the award for the best designs.

"Cash was a major driver of foot traffic this year and Sahara Centre aimed at maximising the number of winners. We had 16 winners this year from a range of nationalities who enjoyed walking away with different prizes," added Chammas.
