Delegation from the Rail Agency of RTA visits East Asia

A delegation from the Rail Agency headed by the CEO AbdulMajid Al Khaja, recently visited Hong Kong and Malaysia.

The delegation included Adnan Al Hammadi, Director of Construction, and Abdulredha Abu Hassan, Director of Planning and Design.

Accompanying the RTA delegation was Ahmed Hashim Khoory, Senior Vice President for Development of the Dubai International Airport and Mr. Jeffery, Director of Design and Construction, Emirates Flights.

The objective of their five day visit was to study the existing systems and infrastructures in the Far East and benchmark it to the upcoming projects like the Metro and the Dubai International Airport.

Besides studying the various ticketing and registration systems on the underground and elevated stations of the Metro systems, the group also gathered knowledge on the procedure of baggage flow. The delegation also studied the methodologies that could be adapted for the construction of the Purple line since it would serve commuters between Dubai International and Jebel Ali airports.

The visit also included the study of the functioning of main metro control rooms in addition to the Metro operation systems. The management and administration systems were studied and these practices will be adopted for the Dubai Metro to help enhance the future development and organizational structure of the Rail Agency.
