Individual and small enterprise customers opting for the online payment option will get free delivery of du SIM cards by courier. However, large enterprise customers will be contacted directly by dedicated account managers to arrange the smooth delivery of SIM cards.

Osman Sultan, Chief Executive Officer of du, said:

'This is the day we started our mobile services. du is investing significant time and energy in making the launch a convenient, comfortable and easy experience for all. This is reflected in the orderly phasing of the booking, allocation and confirmation of du numbers, followed by the rollout of services. All our efforts are focused on ensuring our customers are at the centre of our planning and overall strategy.'

'The final stage of the Number Booking Campaign has started taking shape and people would have begun to receive their SIMs. This will pave the way for making calls as soon as connections are activated and make use of the 'thank you' offer.'

On 28 December, 2006, du began allocating numbers to those who had booked existing mobile numbers with a 055 prefix before 14 December. Customers who booked du numbers after that date started receiving allocations for existing numbers from 12 January, 2007. This was followed by allocation of new numbers with a 055 prefix for all consumers and businesses from 4 February.

Osman Sultan confirmed that from 25 February, all customers, including those who have booked a du mobile number, will be able to visit any du distribution channel, including nine du shops and 90 premium dealers across the UAE, to collect their SIM cards.

Additionally, he said two fulfillment centers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be set up to absorb the increasing demand during the initial phase and to enable customers who did not pay online for their pre booked du numbers, to collect their SIM cards.

At a recent press conference, du announced its launch date (11 February), while also revealing the tariff structure, packages, products and a special 'thank you' offer for those who booked their numbers during the du Number Booking Campaign.
