We offer the well-heeled traveller indulgent experiences all year round, and particularly during 'A Luxe Affair' in March/April and September/ October each year,' said Ke-Wei Peh, Area Director - Singapore Tourism Board, Middle East and Africa.
Now in its 11th year, the World Gourmet Summit is an annual celebration of the best of the culinary scene. With celebrities, designers and top models such as Kim So Yeon, Salvatore Ferragamo Jr, Andrew Gn, Julien Macdonald and Lily Cole gracing previous festivals at runway shows by Ferragamo, Chanel, Diane von Furstenberg and Jean Paul Gaultier, this year's event promises to be another stunning world-class fashion experience with top Asian models gracing the catwalk for international designer Vivienne Tan, Indian designers Priyadarshini Rao, Anshu and Jason and Savio Jon and Shanghai-based couture and ready-to-wear fashion designer Lu Kun.
'Singapore is increasingly recognized as a city at the very frontier of new fashion and events like the Singapore Fashion Festival reinforce Singapore's position as a premier hub for fashion in the region, drawing fashion and fashionable enthusiasts to shop in Singapore,' commented Peh.
And premiering in Asia, during 'A Luxe Affair' is The Crystal Mirror (9 March - 26 April), a four-course gourmet dinner created by acclaimed chefs, a spectacular setting within a Mirror Tent, and a unique entertainment extravaganza. Orchestrated by award-winning chefs from Austria and France, the four-course haute cuisine menu will be served during the course of a 3˝-hour show, with a cast of 15 artists of various nationalities, including the world famous Caesar Twins who will astound audiences with their skilled balances and lifts performed in a large goldfish bowl.
