Intaj will own a majority equity stake in the new entity, Uniceramic Holding.

Uniceramic Holding has initiated the development of the state of the art manufacturing plant in Qatar and plans on making an acquisition in Algeria in 2007. A considerable retail arm consisting of a major roll-out of showrooms across the region is also foreseen in order to provide value-added services. Uniceramic Holding is expected to reach a capacity of over 40 million square-meters by 2009.

Nabil Triki, Executive Partner and Head of Private Equity at Swicorp, stated: "This transaction reflects our confidence in the future of the building materials industry in the MENA region." Nabil Triki added: "Our interest in the industry goes beyond the ceramic tiles sector as we are currently considering investments in other parts of the building materials' value chain."

Nabil Triki also asserted: "The regional market imports most of its ceramic tiles although the region encompasses all the necessary resources and competitive advantages to produce ceramic tiles. Countries such as Qatar and Algeria offer low energy costs and access to raw materials and siting which are significant competitive advantages for ceramic tiles producers. Investing in the region's ceramic tiles sector is sound and rational."

Uniceramic SAL's founder and chairman, Joseph Ghorra, declared: "Partnering with Swicorp will allow us to achieve our longstanding objective of becoming a regional player. This partnership will also enable us to grow faster and meet the ongoing growth in demand for ceramic tiles and related products."

A land and a license have been secured in Qatar. The plant design and all technical specifications have been completed. The Qatari unit is expected to be operational by the end of 2007. SACMI, the world leader in ceramic tiles manufacturing equipment, has been selected to furnish the plants with the latest technologies. In Algeria, Intaj is
in negotiation to acquire a majority equity stake in a local player.
