DIHRD signs MoU with British University in Dubai

The Dubai Institute for Human Resource Development (DIHRD) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The British University in Dubai (BUiD), to provide Dubai Government employees with internationally accredited professional training.

The agreement came into immediate effect with a training course held in cooperation with Manchester University.

Under the terms of the MOU DIHRD and The British University in Dubai will jointly organize training programmes and conferences, nominate and coordinate speakers for joint conferences, utilize each others' premises, and share and exchange articles.

Mohammed Jassim, CEO of DIHRD, said: "The agreement is in line with DIHRD's vision of building partnerships with international institutions to develop HR practices in the UAE according to international standards. This will help facilitate greater potential, free up resources that will improve the performance of government departments, and strengthen knowledge growth."

Jassim added: "The British University in Dubai facilitates the sharing of knowledge and solutions at the regional and international levels, while offering its programs, research, and consultancy to DIHRD."

Dr Abdullah Alshamsi, Vice-Chancellor of The British University in Dubai said: "The British University in Dubai is delighted to be signing this Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai Institute for Human Resource Development which will establish a long term partnership between the two organisations."

"BUiD is looking forward to providing DIHRD with the right tools to achieve its goal of developing human resources and supporting Dubai government initiatives towards a knowledge-based economy. We are privileged to be able to contribute to the economic and social development of the UAE."

The British University in Dubai (BUiD) is the Middle East's first research-based, postgraduate university. The University was established to facilitate access to world-class education, training and research in the Middle East. BUiD aspires to the highest, internationally recognized British standards as reflected in its partnership with the University of Edinburgh, the University of Birmingham, the University of Manchester, Cardiff University and the Cass Business School at City University, London. Each has a five or five-star rating in the UK national Research Assessment Exercise that signifies research of international standard.
