Wataniya showcases at Barcelona first convergent billing system in MENA region

Nedjma, Wataniya International's operator in Algeria, is the first to deploy the state of the art billing system, with plans to roll it out across other operations in the future. HP is Wataniya International's technology partner in this project.

The system, HP Convergent Charging (HP CC) solution consolidates multi-platform, multi-access billing into a single package that will manage the company's total service offering from voice billing to multimedia services. The highly innovative solution is built on HP CC solution, HP servers and infrastructure, and a version of the LHS BSCS billing software and will support the advanced wireless voice and data services that Nedjma provides to over 3 million customers - including messaging, entertainment and other personalized content- rich information.

Convergent billing solutions bring the capability to manage leveraging tariffs for a wide number of advanced services, including voice, data, Internet access and multimedia, such as video. The solution will also support payments across a number of access points, making it easier for customers to control costs and stay in touch.
