Emirates Identity Authority opens second office

Emirates Identity Authority has opened its second office in Dubai at the building where Dubai Municipality's Markets Department is housed.
Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, who opened the new facility, said that the Municipality never spares any opportunity in offering facilities to other local as well as national service bodies.
Darwish Ahmed Al Zarouni. Director General of Emirates Identity Authority, Assistants to the Director General of Dubai Municipality and many officials of the Emirates Identity Authority were present on the occasion.
Lootah said the national identity card project is a very important effort towards registering the details of all the residents of the country including nationals and expatriates.
"The new identity card, which will be used in all governmental transactions in the future, is a unique document that will offer peaceful life to everybody. It will also protect the identity and privacy of each individual," he said.
Lootah said the opening of the facility in the Markets Department building will help the large number of nationals and expatriates working in the Municipality who will be able to register their names and the names and details of their families also.
Al Zarouni thanked Dubai Municipality for offering the facility for housing the second office of Emirates Identity Authority in Dubai. The first office of the authority was opened at the Central Post Office building in Karama.
He hoped that with the cooperation of other departments the authority will be able to record the details of the residents, update them on a regular basis and issue identity cards for nationals and expatriates.
Al Zarouni said the authority plans to build a comprehensive database of the population of the UAE and link these data with all government and non-government bodies in the country while keeping the confidentiality of the information.
