Russia backs GCC nuclear push

Sergie Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, has said Gulf states should have the right to utilise nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, reported Gulf News. The minister was briefed on the upcoming visit to Vienna by GCC Secretary-General Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Attiyah, where he will discuss various points of co-operation with the IAEA.
