Tiger Woods reviews plans of 'Al Ruwaya' golf course in 'The Tiger Woods Dubai'
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, February 17 - 2007 at 13:12
- PRESS RELEASE
Tatweer's newly appointed Project Director for The Tiger Woods Dubai, Abdulla Al Gurg, recently met Tiger Woods and Tiger Woods Design President Bryon Bell, to discuss and research design ideas, vegetation, course contouring and elevation changes for Al Ruwaya, the world's first Tiger Woods-designed golf course.
During the week of meetings, the design team visited a variety of golf courses and communities with similar desert environments, including some in Las Vegas, Nevada and Palm Springs, California. Clubhouse facilities and overall integration between golf course and community design were also studied.
"Our visits to developments with similar terrain helped us gain a further understanding of how to create an unparalleled golf course," Abdulla Al Gurg, Project Director of The Tiger Woods Dubai, said. "We plan to hold regular meetings during project development, through to completion. This enables us to collaborate efficiently and ensure the materialization of our vision for a truly unique golf course."
In an already topographically diverse location, Al Ruwaya will incorporate dramatic elevation changes, and aims to provide an exclusive oasis in the heart of the desert.
The Tiger Woods Dubai, located over an area of 38 million sq ft and due to be completed in 2009, will be an exclusive golf community including a professionally-staffed golf academy; a 60,000-square-foot clubhouse with premium amenities; an 80-suite boutique hotel; a high-end destination spa; 21 palaces; 75 mansions; 190 luxury villas; and applicable community services.
