Tawaleeh plant set for expansion

The Gulf Total Tractebel Power Company, a 20% subsidiary of Suez Energy International, is to extend its Taweelah A1 Power and Desalination Plant in Abu Dhabi. The plant currently has a production capacity of 1360 MW but this will be stepped up to 1592 MW by May 2009. The turnkey construction contract has been handed to the Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction Company.
