Khamenei for nuclear policy
- Iran: Sunday, February 18 - 2007 at 08:07
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said his country needs to continue with its nuclear programme as its reserves of oil and gas will eventually dry up, thus forcing it to be dependent on others for its energy needs, reported the AP. Khamenei described those who felt Iran didn't need nuclear power as 'shallow-minded'. Iran plans to generate 20,000 MW through nuclear power plants in the next two decades.
