CATT is a Collective Training System that provides up to Battlegroup/Brigade level training for both Armoured Vehicles, dismounted, HQ staff’s and supporting forces. Its 100+ Simulators at each site are linked by a wide area network together with a modern synthetic environment, providing training within “real-world” scenarios.
The CATT system on show demonstrates the Operational, Control and Analyst (OC&A) position for scenario control and instructor operation and is linked to an Armoured Vehicle that is fully interactive within the scenario for Driving and Gunnery operations.
The system is PC based using modern Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) and allows the instructor to plan, monitor and analyse crew and collective training.
The Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (CATT) has evolved far beyond that first envisaged and now has a wider utility, encompassing training for Light to Armoured Infantry, Formation Reconnaissance to Armoured Troops and a plethora of Combat and Combat Support Units.
Jon Wills, Market Development and Sales Director for BAE Systems Integrated System Technologies (Insyte) said
“There is significant interest in this system across the region. Insyte is excited by these opportunities and we are looking forward to developing these during IDEX 2007.”
