Sri Lankan Post and Telecom Minister discusses postal cooperation with Emirates Post

The Sri Lankan Minister for Posts and Telecommunications, Mr. Rauff Hakeem, discussed potential areas of cooperation between the UAE and Sri Lanka in the postal field, while meeting a delegation of Emirates Post in Dubai.

Mr. Hakeem, who was on a transit visit to Dubai, was met by an Emirates Post delegation led by Mr. Abdullah Al Fan, Assistant Director General, Development and Marketing, who briefed the Minister on Emirates Post's development strategy and identified areas of possible cooperation, such as the Dubai Airport Mail Hub, improved parcel service like the one with India and new postal and non-postal services.

Mr. Hakeem expressed keen desire to build stronger relations between Emirates Post and Sri Lanka Post, and lauded the progress achieved by Emirates Post. He assured that he would pursue the issues raised by delegation as part of enlarging the scope of cooperation between the two countries.

The Emirates Post delegation included Mr. Khaled Ebrahim Shahdoor, Assistant Director General, Information & Technology Affairs, Mr. Abdullah Bin Ghaleb, CEO, Wall Street Exchange, Mrs. Wiaam Ghanem, Director, Training & Development Centre, Mr. Abdulla Saqer Al Suwaidi, Director of International Relations and Mr. Nasser Qaddoumi, head of International Postal Services.
