- PRESS RELEASE
The Information Technology Department of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) succeeded in transferring the ownership of electronic applications of the Dubai Taxi.
IBM Company assisted the RTA in this endeavor. This project involved the network connectivity between the RTA and the various existing Dubai Taxi Sites, discussions over the infrastructure, the identification and migration of the applications, and the management of the transference of employees' user accounts.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, Director of RTA's IT Department, said: "I would like to thank all those involved in this challenging assignment, which required the RTA and Dubai Taxi project team to join forces towards achieving a common goal. The close cooperation extended by Dubai Taxi was essential to the project's success." "The migration of identified applications provides the platform for implementing innovative services for further enhancing the customer service," he added.
Mohammed Al Mudharreb, RTA Project Manager who acknowledged the importance of team work and collaboration in completing this sophisticated applications migration project, was selected to manage this project.
The project was a success, achieving its objectives in 3 months with minimal disruption to business operations and customer service. This was a result of close collaboration between the RTA and Dubai Taxi proven by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two sides prior to the joining of Dubai Taxi under the umbrella of the RTA.
