Chief Executive Officer of Beaufort RAK, Jihad A Fakhreddine received the ISO certificate from Marian Paruszewski, Certification Officer of Bureau Veritas at a function held at Hotel Al Hamra Fort here last evening.

Beaufort RAK LLC is a joint venture between Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA) and a group of foreign entrepreneurs and is engaged in the manufacture of high quality personal absorbency products including baby diapers, feminine hygiene products and adult incontinent.

Jihad A Fakhreddine said that the ISO certification is a testimony of Beaufort RAK's commitment to providing its clients with high quality products and the certification has been awarded after an intense review of the company's quality processes. The company was launched in the RAKIA industrial zone in October 2006.

He said that the company employed a cutting-edge proprietary technology called Synthetic Fibre Core (SFC) which eliminates the use of wood pulp from the manufacturing process, thus helping in the preservation of environment. "By using the new technology we are able to save at least 20 square kilometer of trees every year", he added.

He said that the company was the first to deploy the technology and has filed more than 15 patents for the technology. "SFC technology helps us to produce the finest, lightest, driest and coolest diapers in the world," he added.

Jihad said that the company was marketing products under its own brands like Baby Dreamy, Baby Komfy, Baby Panda, Baby Roo and has also ventured into private labeled contract manufacturing for major wholesalers worldwide.

He said that the company would increase its production capacity from the present 250 million diapers per annum by five fold in the next three years. "We are also aiming to increase our product range to include feminine hygiene, adult incontinent, wound care and other related products in the near future", he said and added that the company also expects to enter the US and European markets this year.
