A judging committee comprising SME members will select the winning project based on the creativity of the idea, sales and advertising, income and profitability of the project.
The winning project will be awarded at the "Mohammed bin Rashid Awards for Young Business Leaders" ceremony. Prizes will also be given away for the following categories: Best Cultural Store Award, Most Profitable Store Award, Best Marketing Award, amongst others.
Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders said: "The Establishment is keen on providing an environment that welcomes new generations of entrepreneurs into the business world and encourages high school students to engage in creative thinking and entrepreneurship."
He added:
"By participating in this event, students will receive an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and develop their business acumen. The exposure of their business ideas to the public will help enhance their business, communication, presentation and social skills, while learning to compete in a real time marketplace."
Al Janahi pointed out that the Establishment is committed to enhancing entrepreneurial skills in the UAE not only by promoting analytical thinking among potential entrepreneurs but also through events that strengthen its relations with high schools and students.
"These events help build awareness about the possibility of the students' contribution to the economic development of the country," he added.
Since its inception in 2005, YEC drew the participation of 150 teams comprising local and expatriate male and female students from government and private schools.
