DMCC is participating at the Gulfood exhibition for the first time, in preparation for the development of the commodities market in the food sector.

'DMCC is creating opportunities in the food sector, specifically in wheat, pulses, grains, tea and other foodstuffs,' said Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chief Operating Officer of DMCC, as he welcomed more than 3,000 guests. 'One of our initiatives is the Dubai Tea Trading Centre, which has had a significant positive impact on the tea trade in the region. More than 6.6 million kilos of multi-origin teas were transacted through the Centre since it began operations in March 2005. '

The outdoor reception with live music, dancing and shisha facilities enabled guests to have a taste of true Arabian hospitality.

Gulfood is the region's largest and most important industry event and a strategic platform for buyers and sellers to conduct business face to face. The exhibition is a showcase for manufacturers, distributors and suppliers from around the world, representing all the key segments in the food and hospitality sector.
