Nine hunt Saudi mobile licence

Nine consortia are competing to secure Saudi Arabia's third mobile phone licence, which could generate $5.3bn for the kingdom, with Egypt's Orascom, Kuwait's Mobile Telecom Company and South Africa's MTN among those leading bids, reported Arab News. A statement released by the Communications and Information Technology Commission and cited by the Saudi Press Agency, said the other consortia include the likes of Kingdom Holding Company, Dubai's Oger Telecom and Reliance Telecom.
