Encased in dark blue to reflect the pin-stripe on the Yankees' uniform with Wang's embossed signature on the actual computer, only 20,000 units are set to be made.
"We have seen the success that is associated with aligning Acer's core values with sporting brands that share our determination and passion - as with the Ferrari notebooks - and the Yankees notebook looks set to generate the same interest from like-minded baseball fans," said Philip Ashkar, Director of Sales and Marketing, Acer Computer (Middle East) Ltd.
With its 14.1 inch (36cm) screen, 1.3 megapixel built-in orbicam, 120GB hard drive and 64-bit Core Duo processor, the 'Yankee' is every bit as fast as one of Wang's pitches but in order to get catch hold of one of them it would require a trip to Taiwan as there are currently no plans for the notebook to retail outside of Acer's home market.
