Egypt pulls plug on Al Zawraa
- Egypt: Monday, February 26 - 2007 at 11:05
A pro-Sunni Iraqi satellite TV channel, Al Zawraa, has been taken off the air in Egypt as its broadcasts were allegedly causing interference on other channels, reported the AFP citing the Al Gomhuriyah newspaper. The channel was shut down in Iraq eight months ago after its anti-American and anti-Shiite news reports were thought to incite violence. It had recently been broadcasting via Egypt's Nilesat satellite.
