Fire Safety Engineering College with the biggest space at GHEDEX

The Fire Safety Engineering College has signed up at GHEDEX 2007 - Muscat with the biggest stall ever confirming a 72 SQM space.

The event scheduled from 16 - 18 April 2007 at Oman International Exhibition Centre is organised under the auspices of Ministry of Higher Education and supported by British Council, Oman and UNESCO.

Participating at GHEDEX, The Fire Safety Engineering College currently offers the following unique programmes: Diploma of Higher Education in Well Engineering; Diploma of Higher Education in Fire Safety Engineering; Diploma of Higher Education in Facilities Management

The higher education programmes attract both young and mature students from many different countries in the region, and students on these programmes have the opportunity of mixing with experienced industry professionals attending vocational courses at the College.

At present the college has 1000 full time Higher Education students and offers training for 5,000 professionals every year from different industries and countries. The college offers around 100 short and mid-duration courses, ranging from basic fire fighting to command and management.

The Fire Safety Engineering College is regulated by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman and is affiliated with one of the oldest and most reputed universities in the UK, The University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). This affiliation agreement provides the highest level of quality assurance in its Higher education programmes.

The University of Central Lancashire is a major provider of higher education in the United Kingdom, and has a history which dates back to 1828 when it was known as the 'Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge'.

Students joining the The Fire Safety Engineering College Diploma programmes are registered at the University in the UK, and Certificates and Diplomas for successful completion of programmes are awarded by the University. Students who successfully complete Diplomas are automatically granted places to continue their studies to Degree Level at the University of Central Lancashire

The Fire Safety Engineering College is also accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), USA. The college's Aviation Courses have been inspected by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), UK. The Fire Safety Engineering College is an associate member of the International Well Control Forum (IWCF), UK and is accredited centre for the provision of well control courses, tests and examinations. The Fire Safety Engineering College is an associate member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), UK.
