A total of 12 participants received their certificates of completion from the Sharjah Tatweer Forum after finishing the 12-session course that gave the participants invaluable theoretical inputs and provided immersion activities that exposed candidates to actual management situations and challenges in government and private agencies.

Showing appreciation to the government for its critical support to the project, Hussain Al Mahmoudi, Chairman, Sharjah Tatweer Forum, said at the graduation rites, 'I would like to thank the Sharjah government, led by the emirate's ruler His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, for the support it has given to the Sharjah Tatweer Forum. Without the government's commitment to the Sharjah Tatweer Forum, we would not have the tremendous success we have achieved today, and we would not be here to celebrate the graduation rites of the Tatweer Leadership Programme.'

The graduates were all UAE National men and women drawn from various professional fields of work in the government and private sectors. The participants of the programme underwent training in various subjects such as emerging concepts in customer relationship management, strategic thinking, leadership and team building, analytical thinking and problem solving, executive coaching and mentoring, and the use of psychometric assessment in selection and development of human resources.

'The National youth of Sharjah, embodied by these energetic and forward-thinking men and women here before us, represent the strong foundation that will sustain our future. These youth have invested time and effort to equip themselves with the skills and competencies necessary to carry out the tasks ahead. Their commitment is invaluable as it complements the emirate's vision of empowering the local human resources to help develop Sharjah's social, educational, cultural and economic standing. In the same vein, I would like to commend the important role played by the Tatweer Leadership Programme, which has been a key instrument in fulfilling the ambitions of these highly motivated young professionals, and realizing the long-term goals of Sharjah,'

said Al Mahmoudi.

The programme included subjects in leadership development, customer relationship management, organizational behavior, change management, strategic management, business communications delivery, small group work, case study techniques, individual research, presentations and individual coaching and mentoring.

'There are more opportunities and ideas to explore as we move ahead with the Tatweer Leadership Programme. We hope that these fresh graduates will flourish in their respective fields guided by the knowledge and experience they have gained from the programme. And may these graduates inspire other young Sharjah Nationals to contribute to the development of the society. The success of these young men and women is the success of Sharjah,' said Al Mahmoudi.

The Tatweer Leadership Programme is an initiative created by the Sharjah Tatweer Forum, which was formed under a decree issued by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. The Sharjah Tatweer Forum is geared towards developing the skills and competencies of National youth in Sharjah, forging effective collaboration between the private and public sectors, and encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation and excellence in business and administration that will ultimately ensure the emirate's overall progress.
