Ithmaar Bank, $183.8m profit

Bahrain's Ithmaar Bank has posted a net profit of $183.8m for 2006, a five-fold increase from the $37.6m earned the previous year. The cost to income ratio fell from 69% to 41%, while total assets rose to $3.2bn at the end of the year, up from $442m at the end of 2005. Funds under management now total $1.1bn.
