Sharjah Civil Aviation invests in new 2D tower simulator

The Sharjah International Airport has recently purchased a new 2D simulator, the best in the industry from Micronav, a company based in the UK.
The simulator will be used at the civil aviation training offices to provide refresher courses as we as emergency continuation training for the Air Traffic Controllers. This division of training is an annual requirement to be carried out by Air Traffic Control officers. With regular training available and the best in training facilities, the Air Traffic Control officers at the Sharjah Airport Authority maintain high standards of service and safety.
The MicroNav ATC Tower simulator integrates the best tower simulation software with the latest image generators, visualization software and display systems making it one of the most enhanced 2D simulators in existence. The ATC Tower simulation systems are used for multiple areas of training ranging from tower and ground operations, civil and military specializations, tower and radar control and much more.
Mr. Abdulwahab M. Al Roomi, Department Director of Civil Aviation said "The Sharjah Airport Authority has always maintained the highest standards in safety and service with efficient operational systems. The new ATC simulator is a part of the constant facilities and training upgrade the airport invests in. Passengers flying through the Sharjah International Airport have seen through the years a high standard of safety and service and the Sharjah Civil aviation aims to continue meeting its passengers' expectations."
The Operations Director for the Sharjah Civil Aviation, Mr. Ahmed Bukalla added "The safety of all passengers and staff is the primary concern at the airport. The purchase of the air traffic simulator will enhance the standards and service of our staff and air traffic controllers to meet worldwide aviation standards in all our facilities and departments.
