Market visit from SouthWest England

- PRESS RELEASE
Fifteen businesses from SouthWest England are due to visit Dubai from 11-17 March as part of a trade visit organised by UK Trade & Investment, the British Government's support service to companies wishing to internationalise their businesses.
The South West of England is home to businesses of all types, although it has particular strengths in healthcare, automotive, education, food and drink and marine, and the mission members reflect that. One section of the group will be based at the Dubai International Boat Show at Mina Seyahi under the care of UKTI Senior International Trade Adviser Christopher Uniacke who commented, 'The South West really is a centre of excellence for the British Marine Industry, and with the exciting developments in Dubai, it makes perfect sense for British companies to look for partners in the region."
The major part of the group will have briefings at the British Embassy and British Business Group, as well as a lunch reception hosted by the British Embassy for local businesses. The delegation will also get the opportunity to view progress on the Dubai Maritime City free zone development.
The visit is led by Senior International Trade Adviser Nick Field who has brought similar delegations to the region in the past. "Dubai, and its 'can do' attitude is seen as the level to aim for, and businesses in the South West are excited by the prospect of being a part of that. Businesses recognise that they need to commit long term to a market, and an official delegation such as this is the best platform to start from."
