Garden Show Float continues tour of Bahrain

The Riffa Views Bahrain International Garden Show Float continued its tour of Bahrain yesterday, making stops at the newly opened Adliya branch of sponsors Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait and two further schools, before heading back to the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), via Budaiya and Saar.

The Float, designed and manufactured by Pico International, was met at the BBK stop by Noora Nusuf, the Head of Public Relations for BBK, and other bank officials, who took the opportunity to discuss the Riffa Views Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS) and take photographs with Shaikha Sabeeka's Office Director Shaikha Maram bint Isa bin Ahmad Al-Khalifa and Esmat Faraj, a BIGS committee member.

Leaving BBK, the Float made its way along Palace Avenue to the Khawla Girls Secondary School, where Esmat, ably and enthusiastically assisted by a number of the waiting children, planted three commemorative trees. As with the other school stops, the trees have been kindly donated by Shaikha Haya bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa.

Next stop on the busy schedule was the Gudabiya Boys Intermediate School, where once again the Float was met by a crowd of children all keen to see the multi-coloured Float as it made its way into the school grounds. Donated trees were again planted by Esmat to leave a lasting legacy of the Float's visit and hopefully act as a focal point for the children of the importance of BIGS and its messages.

There were no more formal stops for the day, but there was still plenty of opportunity for local people to see and enjoy the Float as it made its way through the Budaiya and Saar back to its overnight resting place at the BIEC.

Today will see the Float on the road again as it aims to visit several of the BIGS sponsors - Banagas, Bapco, Alba and GPIC, actually residing overnight at GPIC before heading back to the BIEC for tomorrow afternoon's Opening Ceremony.

The BIGS title sponsor is Riffa Views, the lifestyle residential community being developed here in Bahrain, with other sponsors being Al-Ayam, Bahrain Tribune, Al-Waqt, Al-Watan, Al-Ahad, Al-Wasat, Gulf Daily News, Al-Abraj Advertising, Bapco, Alba, Caltex, GPIC, Banagas and BBK.
