HUMMER drives away with 'Best Use of Printed Media' GEMAS award

Proving once again that HUMMER is truly Like Nothing Else, HUMMER drove away with 'Best Use of Printed Media' award and two highly commended awards in 'Integrated Communications' and 'Brand Development Extension or Re-launch', at this year's GMR Effectiveness in Marketing Awards (GEMAS) held at Madinat Jumeirah on February 22nd.

"It's great to see all our innovative thinking and creative ideas materialise in winning these awards," said Ahmed Soudodi, HUMMER Marketing Manager at GM Middle East. "Our teams at General Motors, Leo Burnett, Starcom Mediavest and Hill and Knowlton have worked very hard to create these Like Nothing Else ideas, setting new benchmarks in media usage."

The HUMMER H3 was launched in 2006 building on the smaller HUMMER platform while maintaining the big brand value of HUMMER. Using effective marketing strategies and channels of communication was essential to the success of the launch and so HUMMER sales soar across the region.

"Our marketing strategy and media plans were very carefully planned from the beginning and gave much room for creative and innovative thinking," said Soudodi. "Excelling in print, outdoor, TV, online media and public relations in addition to being innovative in our creative thinking is what made our campaign successful, and consequently taking home such prestigious awards."

HUMMER was nominated for its entries in New Product Launch, Brand Development Extension or Relaunch, Best Use of Print Media and Integrated Communications categories.

In 2003, HUMMER introduced H2, reflecting an evolution of the brand and making HUMMER more accessible to a wider civilian audience. The HUMMER H2 SUT is an evolution of the H2 which adds even more flexibility for cargo requirements.

The HUMMER H3, a more compact model, arrived to the Middle East in the latter half of 2005 as a 2006 model year.
