During his speech he spoke about upgrading the health system of the Emirate based on the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan (God bless him) and greatly supported by the UAE President, HH Sheikh Khalifa and our Crown Prince, HH Sheikh Mohammed - in order to bring world-class healthcare to the people of Abu Dhabi.
He went on to mention, "Continuous Medical Education plays an essential part in our strategy and I am truly grateful to all our distinguished speakers and guests who have come here from more than 20 countries to share their clinical expertise and insights with our clinicians. Equally, of course, I would like to express my thanks to the participating surgeons and physicians from our top hospitals who have gathered data and codified their procedures and clinical outcomes in order to present and discuss their approaches at this conference. I am very much hoping that every participant will be able to take away important new impulses to improve treatments especially in key areas such as tumor, trauma, cardiac, and paediatric surgery - and equally, treatments for example for conditions caused by diabetes or congenital abnormalities, areas where we have considerable needs here in Abu Dhabi".
Dr. Ahmad concluded his speech saying "I hope this year's surgical conference will provide us with many new ideas to improve our services to our patients, and I wish you all a most rewarding and enjoyable experience here in Abu Dhabi. Thank you".
