Company security concerns on the main agenda for The Identity Summit 2007

From 16 to 18 April 2007, Dubai's Madinat Jumeirah will be the venue for The Identity Summit, hosted by events organiser IIR Middle East.
Topics will include key technologies, latest trends developments and government initiatives, and border control issues. Delegates will learn how to determine the most suitable application for their own organisation and some of the developments in the field that can be expected in the future.
Biometric technologies such as fingerprinting, facial and iris recognition playing an increasing role in identity verification. A practical workshop on the last day of the summit will look at the latest applications and challenges of biometrics in controlling access to restricted areas or networks.
"This event is attracting a truly international portfolio of speakers from the security industry, as well as companies such as banks where access control and security are absolutely paramount," says Marie-Helene Couture, Conference Manager at IIR Middle East. "This comes at a time when the business environment and cross-border security concerns are becoming increasingly complex."
The impressive speaker line up includes P.T. Wright, Acting Deputy Director for the US Department of Homeland Security; Frank Leyman, Manager International Relations, Fedict - Federal Public Service ICT, Belgium; and Hank Van Zanten, Senior Advisor - Corporate Security Department for ABN AMRO Bank in the Netherlands.
In addition, at the 'Catch Me If You Can' pre-conference guru day, also at the Madinat Jumeirah, the legendary con-man turned FBI inspector Frank Abagnale, and world-renowned security expert Alan Brill, will both be sharing their knowledge on how to protect yourself against forgery, counterfeit currency, cheque fraud and identity theft.
"Both events promise to be real eye openers on the vulnerability of organisations against this type of crime," continues Marie-Helene. "The events are for anyone that wants to protect their organisations or themselves against what is very much a growing concern."
