FedEx Express enhances express freight service

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, March 05 - 2007 at 13:26
  • PRESS RELEASE

FedEx Express, the world's largest express transportation company, announced the expansion of its International Priority Freight Service to an additional 39 countries within its Europe, Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa region (EMEA).

With access to over 110 countries and territories this expansion increases express freight coverage to more than 90% of the world's GDP.

First launched in 1994, International Priority Freight is a time definite, premium airfreight service for international shipments containing palletised shipments that weigh more than 68 kgs, or exceed normal size restrictions. Guaranteed delivery within one, two or three business days link the point of supply with the point of demand.

FedEx will meet the need for a fast and reliable door-to-door service with the world's most extensive express freight delivery network including key growth markets in Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. FedEx has also increased the coverage for Saturday deliveries within the United States and expanded to 24 new countries in Latin America, providing greater accessibility for urgent deliveries.

"With international trade volume growing at more than 6% per year over the past decade, the expansion of fast and reliable airfreight services is essential to businesses. FedEx Express Freight allows them to avoid carrying expensive inventory while still meeting their customers' immediate needs." said Mr. Hamdi Osman, FedEx SeniorVice President for the Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent and Africa.

Customs clearance is included in the transport rate, and shipments are backed by a FedEx Money-Back Guarantee. This priority service is supported by leading-edge technology, which allows customers to increase efficiency in supply chain management, and provide complete transparency into the movement of goods.

FedEx technology and customer tools show the real time location of any package within the global network, and identify which documents are needed to ship to and from specific countries. This technology, when combined with the expanded FedEx Express Freight service, allows companies to reduce transportation and overall inventory costs, providing them with a unique solution for their urgent freight shipment needs.
