Allianz Takaful in Bahrain

Germany's Allianz Group, the world's second largest insurance firm, will set up its global Islamic insurance operations in Bahrain, Arab News reported. Allianz Takaful will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allianz Group. It will focus on life insurance, investment-linked insurance and medical insurance. US insurers AIG and ACE Group have also been granted licences to run takaful operations from Bahrain.
