- PRESS RELEASE
The IT Department (ITD) of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) received recently an IT team from the UAE Air force.
Ahmed Bahrozyan said that the main reason for the visit was to see the Datacenter, RTA's IP Network Architecture, the technologies in use (like Blade-Servers) and the successful project management techniques, which help meet timelines. They also wanted to assess RTA's satisfaction level with Nortel, IBM and other technologies. The visiting team was briefed to the way ITD works and manages projects. The ITD appraised the Air Force visiting team about the infrastructure and the outsourcing engagement with Wipro.
The UAE Air force visiting team was extremely impressed to know the way the RTA ITD manages projects and to learn about the amount of thought that went in towards designing and architecture of the infrastructure. They were also very impressed to learn how the architecture caters to the massive and fast growth that RTA experiences.
This visit sets a new and closer relationship between the IT departments of the two Government organizations.
