Ibrahim Al Janahi, Senior Vice President for Commercial Sales, Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), stressed the need to continue building strong ties between Jafza and all the free zone-based companies for the mutual benefits of both partners.
Al Janahi also pointed out that Jafza since its establishment in 1985 has focused on attracting more Japanese companies because they enjoy a very high reputation globally: "The number of Japanese companies we have here has more than tripled from just 30 in 1985 to around 105 today, which is a strong indication of the good reputation Jafza enjoys today within the Japanese business sector".
Addressing the event, Hiroyasu Kobyashi, the Consul General of Japan in Dubai, said: "The presence of more than 2,000 Japanese people in Dubai makes this city home to the largest Japanese community in the Middle East and Africa. And the 105 Japanese companies in Jafza is a strong indication of the distinguished position Dubai enjoys today as an international trade centre. It is an acknowledgement of the state-of-the-art facilities made available to investors in Jafza."
Hitachi Construction Machinery's new warehouse in Jafza is one of the company's finest outside Japan and is equipped to meet the ever-growing demand for its products from countries in the region.
