Preparations for sixth annual career day intensify at Effat College

Effat College steps-up plans for the Sixth Annual Career Day 2007, which will take place on March 14th 2007 on campus.
The Career Development Office (CDO) at Effat College organizes this annual event that aims to invite prospective employers to meet Effat College graduates and other job applicants seeking employment. Career Day 2007 will also feature a variety of informative discussions and a workshop that will discuss leadership qualities. Participants will also receive advice from experienced Career Counselors to discover the optimal career opportunities that suit their qualifications and experience.
Several prominent Saudi celebrities will contribute to the activities of the Sixth Annual Career Day. A panel discussion consisting of Dr. Hatoon Fasi, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shugairi, Mrs. Safiya Bin Zagar, and Mrs.Sisil Rouchady is a highlight of this event. Dr.Hatton Fasi is specialist in women's history in the History Department of King Saud University (Saudi Arabia).She advocates reforms in the Arab World and she is one of the members of the team that is entrusted with writing the chapter on women and development in first Human Development Report for the Arab Gulf States (GCC).
Mr. Ahmed Al-Shugairi is a local businessman who holds a Masters in Business Management. His life passion is educating and guiding today's youth to lead a better Islamic life. He has participated in several visual media programs, and he is renowned for his Arab youth television program, Yalla Shabab, that inspires and guides young men of his society. In addition, another member of the panel, Mrs.Safeya Binzagr is a famous Saudi Artist. She has spent her life recording social history, traditions and folklore of the local community in Jeddah in her paintings. She established the "Darat Safiya Binzagr"Museum in 1997 which displays her artwork and organizes several artistic events throughout the year.Mrs. Binzagr has received several local and international awards.
Mrs.Sisil Rouchady has extensive experience in the field of education. She worked in the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Riyadh and she was appointed by the ministry and upon the request of HRH Queen Effat Al- Thinayaan's (May God Rest her Soul) to hold the position of principal of the Dar Al-Hanan Schools. She continued her duties as principal under the Ministry of Education and The General Presidency for Girls' Education. Mrs. Rouchady was also the adviser to HRH Queen Effat Al- Thinayaan (May God Rest her Soul) in her role as the Honorary Head of The Faysaiah Charity Society in Jeddah.
A job fair will also take place during this event. Leading companies are invited to participate in the fair and recruit female applicants from various educational institutions. Companies must pay a participation fee. A female graduate wishing to present her Curriculum Vitae to prospective employers must pay a fee aswell.
Effat College wishes to involve the local business community in this remarkable prospect to provide job opportunities for young females in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, it encourages local companies and institutions to sponsor this event. Effat College offers interested parties four levels of sponsorship: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Friends of Career Day.
