Effat College hosts Associate Professor

Effat College is proud to announce that it will host visiting associate professor Dr. Aline Germain-Rutherford for a two-day workshop on the 28th and 29th of March on campus.
Dr. Germain-Rutherford is an associate professor at the University of Ottawa (Canada) and a member of the Faculty for Graduate and Post Doctoral Studies. She holds a PhD in The Art of Teaching Second Languages and Cultures from "The Sorbonne University "(France) and a Graduate Diploma in Experimental Phonetics and a Masters in General Linguistics from "The University of Provence "(France).She has extensive teaching and administrative experience. She has held the position of Director of French School in Middlebury College, Vermont (USA) since the year 2005. Dr. Germain-Rutherford has also been the Director of the Center for University Teaching at the University of Ottawa (Canada) since 2001.She has received several prestigious awards and recognitions like "3M National Teaching Fellow Award for Excellence in Teaching and Leadership in Higher Education."
Dr. Germain-Rutherford will share her knowledge and expertise with faculty members from several local colleges. On the 28th of March, she will give two lectures entitled Thinking-based Learning in Higher Education and Essentials of Problem-Solving Learning. She will also
deliver two lectures entitled Communication Skills and Academic Self-Assessment on March 29th.Lecturers from other colleges are welcome to benefit from this opportunity.
