Virtual Private Networks launch in the UAE
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, March 07 - 2007 at 16:20
- PRESS RELEASE
ABC Digital Network, a division of the Emirates Neon Group, launched Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) in the Middle East at an event held today at the World Trade Center in Dubai.
VPN screens can be fitted at any location within a building or complex and connected online to systems anywhere in the world. The user has full control of all content displayed on the screens, giving the effect of a private television broadcasting channel.
With the introduction of flat panel display LCD and Plasma screens, they can be placed in almost any practical environment in order to catch the audience's attention.
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a private data network that makes use of the public telecommunication infrastructure; it also offers the highest level of security using advanced encryption and authentication protocols to protect data from unauthorised access.
A key quality of a VPN is to give the company the same capabilities as private leased lines at a much lower cost, by utilising cost-effective third party internet transport to connect remote offices and users to the main corporate site. Companies today are using VPNs for both extranets and wide-area intranets.
ABC Digital Network's general manager, Nick Armstrong, says: "This technology is the future - as this new era of business has become extremely demanding and companies realise that a fast response to changing market conditions is crucial for success.
"The interest from some of the World's most progressive organisations has been fantastic and, before long, I'm sure VPNs will become commonplace within medium and large sized organisations throughout the region.
"One of the most important aspects of VPNs is the ability to offer truly global communications, meaning multinational corporations can choose to disseminate consistent messages to employees or customers based in the GCC."
ABC has already successfully penetrated the UAE Market with more than 20 of Dubai's five star hotels opting for VPN technology to enhance their communication. Companies who have already incorporated the technology include Emarat and the Kempinski chain of hotels amongst others.
ABC Digital Network has been at the forefront of Digital and Ambient Media in the Middle East for the past six years.
A complete solution provider, ABC covers everything from hardware and software license sales, installation, support, maintenance, to content creation and distribution.
Custom-designed solutions are provided, ranging from a single digital sign for an office, restaurant, or retail store, to dozens networked together for multiple locations.
With each system tailored to a client's specific needs, and features like high definition display quality, flexible content presentation, proven reliability and industrial strength electronics; ABC offers an integrated all-in-one signage system providing secure, efficient, and robust control over the company's communications
