The new launch event, GIBTM, is the premier three-day exhibition for the global meetings and incentives (otherwise known as MICE) industry.

"Net Group already has good business from Europe, and we aim to tap other potential markets, both within the GCC and the rest of the world," says Paddy Paul, Director of Net Group's dedicated division for MICE business (Meetings,Incentives,Conferences & Exhibitions).

GIBTM will unite international and local meetings and incentives venues, destinations, suppliers and partners with meeting planners, incentive travel buyers and decision makers, for three days of networking and business.

Net Group will also facilitate Reed Travel Exhibitions, the organizers of GIBTM to conduct event successfully in Abu Dhabi.

Networking

The GIBTM promises excellent business-to-business opportunities, networking events and industry-specific professional education. It is based on a high quality appointment-driven Hosted Buyer programme. "We hope to utilize the excellent opportunity for networking with meeting planners, incentive travel buyers, and decision makers attending the event from various regions," says Mr. Ali Abu Monassar, Vice Chairman, Net Group.

Mrs. Paddy Paul, Director of Net Group's MICE division views it as a good opportunity to strengthen the MICE industry within the Gulf region.

Target markets

Suppliers and buyers from the Gulf region and from Europe and Asia will exhibit at the GIBTM. "Net Group already has good business from Europe, and we aim to tap other potential markets, both in the GCC countries and the rest of the world," says Paddy Paul.
"We are quite strong with European markets such as Italy and Germany; and the Far East to a certain extent. We would like to source new markets from South East Asia and UK, which have a huge potential."

Destination Abu Dhabi

This is the first time that Reed brings a high level MICE exhibition into Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi has many attractions including a scenic desert environment, world - class hotels and fine infrastructure. "But we also need well-informed clients who will make the best use of our services. Here's where the GIBTM will step in and bridge the existing information gap," comments Anwar Abu Monassar, Branch manger, Net Group, Abu Dhabi. "Cooperation between the private and public sector is a must and perfect planning is a necessity in order to excel in our services. This is what we precisely aim to achieve."

Net Group has overseas representation in UK, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Australia & New Zealand to coordinate with these markets. The Group is also looking to expand business into Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

Net Group's offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Qatar and Oman are involved in expanding both leisure and MICE tourism business. The rapid development of hotel projects and conference venues in Abu Dhabi and Qatar are in line with the growing demand. Dubai is already brimming with excessive demand for top-class venues. These are viewed as positive signs for MICE toruism.
