Women Expo 2007 scheduled for Muscat this December

In line with the annual celebration of International Women's Day (IWD) on March 8, Omanexpo LLC has announced that it will continue to promote women empowerment in the sultanate by organising Women Expo 2007 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre on December 9 - 14 this year.

'One of the main objectives of the IWD is to inspire women worldwide to achieve their full potential, and this is something that we also hope to accomplish with the holding an exclusive exhibition for women every year,' said C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading exhibition management company in the sultanate.

Paul pointed out that this will be the third year in a row that Women Expo is held, thus once again highlighting the important role that women play not only at home but in society as a whole. In much the same way that the IWD celebrates the achievements of women, he explained that the exhibition will also pay tribute to all women in Oman as they continue to make a difference in the sultanate's social and economic development.

According to Paul, Women Expo 2007 will be a grand showcase of everything that sets women apart and makes them unique as individuals. The six-day exhibition will not only feature beauty products and the latest fashion but also focus on women's health issues and career opportunities for women. In the addition, it will highlight the importance of proper child care, the latest trends in home improvement as well as other matters of particular interest to women.

'Women Expo 2007 will be a show that all women can personally relate to,' Paul stressed. 'It will be something that will do more than just meet their needs but will actually cater their interests and aspirations.'

Last year's edition of the event attracted the participation of leading companies in Oman that deal in products and services for women. Among these were A'Saffa Poultry Farms, Bank Muscat, Eastern Pearls Company, Hatat Polyclinic, Khimji Pharmacy, Muscat Pharmacy & Stores, Salman Stores, Muscat Private Hospital, Mustafa Sultan Electronics, Oman Marketing and Trading Co., Oman Trading Establishment, Premium Food Industries, and Ramniklal B. Kothary & Co. LLC.

Since the launching of the event in 2005, Women Expo has also garnered the official support of the Ministry of Health (MOH), the National Association for Cancer Awareness (NACA), the Omani Women Association - Muscat, Oman Women Association at Seeb, the Omani Society of Fine Arts, and women's magazines such as Al Mar'a and Usrat Al Youm.
