DREI has already established partnership with the University of Reading, UK; Cape Town University, South Africa, and the National University of Singapore. The institute regards affiliations with these expert industry practitioners as crucial for developing its resource wealth and customizing the relevance of its course offerings to the regional and international marketplace.

The high demand for educational advancements in real estate is a result of the potential growth of the global real estate market and the increasing confidence in the UAE in general and Dubai in particular as a business and real estate hub. DREI will cater to students wanting a career in the real estate industry, as well as professionals and executives already working in the field.

The curriculum will include industry specific courses such as real estate development, international real estate, specific real estate product development, project management, government policies, computer and GIS applications in real estate analysis, real estate investment and portfolio management, urban economics, legal aspects of real estate, real estate finance and securitization, property valuation and appraisal, and asset management.

A board of directors will strategically manage the institute and drive its vision for excellence and global leadership. The panel currently comprises representatives from Dubai Holding, including Sama Dubai, Tatweer and Dubai Properties.

Dubai World, Emaar, Emaar India, and Dubai Islamic Bank are in the process of signing on as shareholders. The institute will be very selective in seeking further partnerships with leading real estate players across the region.
