Kuwait Airways leaping forward with ISO 9001/2000

Kuwait Airways Corporation has yet again created a distinctive mark by achieving the prestigious ISO 9001/2000- Quality Management Certificate, which covers all the departments at the Corporation.

The ISO Certification comes as a result of fulfilling all the required prerequisites within an integrated program carried out in a period of 24 months and is approved by the QMI - CANADA; which is the representative of ISO Organization and comes under the supervision of Global Expertise Consultancy Company (GEC).

At a special celebration held on this occasion, Kuwait Airways Chairman and Managing Director, Sheikh Talal Mubarak Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received the certificate from the CEO of Global Expertise Consultancy Company (GEC)- Mr. Tawfiq Dsouqia, in the presence of the Director of the Public Relations & Information- Mr. Adel Boresly, Head of the Quality Management Center- Mr. Ali Abdul khodor, Group Leader of Customer Relations- Mr. Yousef Al-Ballam, and the Head of Media Office- Mr. Saad Al-Otaibi.

Following the acceptance, the Director of Public Relations & Information Mr. Adel Boresly stated that Kuwait Airways realization of ISO 9001/ 2000 comes in line with its strategy that aims to implement the principles and prerequisites of the Quality Global System on all the departments within the Corporation so as to upgrade the administrative system and management style using the latest international applications in accordance with the approved quality standards.

Mr. Boresly added that the Corporation had realized this certificate by conducting orientation and specialized training courses that involved documentation of work procedures for all the departments as well as adhering to conducting internal audit programs throughout the year, in addition to changing the style of management and workers' performance within the Corporation so as to cope up with the principles of quality. It also involved paying more attention to the needs of the customers in a detailed manner and to continue in providing the best products and services.

Mr. Boresly also pointed out that achieving the international certificate was considered as the first step in introducing the culture of quality into Kuwait Airways Corporation, and it was also considered the optimal method towards making comprehensive and integrated change in fulfilling the ever changing needs of the customers.
