Knowledge Village promotes Dubai as destination for international higher education

Dubai's growing status as an international hub of excellence in higher education was spotlighted by Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) at the recently held Asia Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference in Singapore.
The APAIE Exhibition 2007 showcased the latest programmes and developments from various universities. It also highlighted emerging trends in international education and provided networking opportunities for educators and senior administrators in institutes of higher learning.
Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of Dubai Knowledge Village, presented an assessment of the GCC's social, economic and human resources. He also stressed the need for higher education to ensure a sustainable future for the GCC countries.
Dr. Kazim said: "Dubai Knowledge Village is keen to strengthen its ties with the higher-education sector in the Asia Pacific region to create synergy in terms of setting up effective higher education policies.
"During the past years Gulf states have witnessed a substantial change and development in organisations of higher learning, as elsewhere worldwide. The APIAE Conference provided an excellent opportunity to assess the emerging trends in higher education, diverse national plans, policies and education strategies."
Dubai Knowledge Village currently hosts the regional campus of over 20 universities from Australia, India, Pakistan, Iran, Russia, Belgium, UK, Canada, Ireland and France. The cluster also boasts of over 300 professional training institutes and numerous academic support service providers catering to the educational development of over 8,600 students.
