Located at Madinat Makadi, the picturesque 18-hole Championship Golf Course is designed by Sanford Golf Design. The luxurious course is built over 1.4 million square-meters, and will be launched during the second quarter of 2007. Having a par 72 with 6 sets of tees makes it strategically designed and built to USGA standards; and can host international championships at any level all year round. The layout works its way through existing sand dunes, and enjoys views of the hotels, Red Sea, and the mountains on the other side.
The plan includes a comprehensive golf academy featuring six hectares practice range with 3 tees and a 9-hole pitch and putt (short holes). Furthermore, the academy provides teaching presentations and beginners' courses and a snack bar.
Surrounded by the magnificent shores of the Red Sea, lagoons and lakes, the Clubhouse outlying the Course enjoys an outdoor and indoor area, where one can have a drink at the bar or indulge in a meal at the a la carte restaurant, which can accommodate up to 150 persons. Also available at the Clubhouse is a health club, where one can unwind in the Jacuzzi, sauna or steam room. Additionally, a fully stocked Pro Shop is available offering a wide range of up-to-date golf accessories, so one can purchase all the necessary equipment. Furthermore, other services include daily rental sets, club cars, trolleys or a caddy.
The residential area surrounding the golf course includes 3500 Golf town houses, patio or Garden houses and apartments. All residential units are overlooking the Sea, golf course, lakes and picturesque landscapes.
